CanadiaNJ Taylorn pop sensation NJ Taylor is about to explode on to the music scene with the release of her new single ‘So You’ on the 11 December. The previously released lyric video for the single has more than 70,000 YouTube views and the numbers just keep rising. The Canadian singer will also be releasing an acoustic version of ‘So You’, and a remix by renowned San Paulo based DJ and producer Edson Pride. NJ’s self-titled EP will be released in early 2016.

NJ’s previous single ‘I Don’t Care’ received enormous attention. The upbeat dance track, and various remix versions by the likes of Naeleck Von Styx, Tracy Young and Kiran Kamath have gained 120,000 + combined views on YouTube. Her other single ‘Pop Army’ also gained a lot of buzz and made it to the semi-finals of the 2015 UK Songwriting Contest in the Pop, Acoustic/Folk and Electronic/Dance categories.

As a child, NJ’s preferred choice of instrument was the violin, and she continued to play until she started high school. Her teen years were spent releasing her creative energies; writing her own songs, singing, dancing and even doing theatre. She then went on to university to study languages (Italian and Spanish – she’s already fluent in French and English), and even enrolled into a theatre program, but decided that the music industry was where she belonged.

“I want to inspire. Yes, I aspire to inspire,” says NJ. “I want to make people feel something, make them reflect. I would be so lucky to have my music become the background music to the soundtrack of their lives. I love exploring different topics other than the typical love songs. I want to be a positive influence.”

NJ has already started sharing her gift of music with the masses, and is well on her way to becoming that positive influence she wants to be. Her 2013 single ‘I Don’t Care’ not only received airplay in Canada, but was also featured in the TV show ‘Sex & Ethnicity’. Her most recent single ‘So You’ even reached the semi-finals of the Unsigned Only Music Competition in the pop/Top 40 category, and the 2014 UK Songwriting Contest in the Adult Contemporary category. It was also nominated in both the Pop and Americana/Folk/Acoustic categories for Hollywood Music in Media.
