The Steelhouse Festival 2017, which will run between 29 and 30 July 2017, is delighted to announce FIVE more fantastic confirmed acts. Last In Line, featuring Vinnie Appice and Vivian Campbell formerly of the Dio band, British Lion, King King, Jared James Nichols and Tequila Mockingbyrd.
Promoter Max Rhead said, “For me personally, this is one of the best announcements we’ve made over the seven year history of the Steelhouse. I was a massive Dio fan growing up, and although very sadly Ronnie is no longer with us, Vivian Campbell and Vinnie Appice are keeping these incredible songs alive. Holy Diver on the mountain-top – I can’t wait!”
Last In Line started as a casual reunion jam between these two original members of the Dio band and has grown into a fully-fledged project that has taken on a life of its own.Vinnie Appice and Vivian Campbell were Ronnie Dio’s co-conspirators and co-writers on ‘Holy Diver’, ‘Last In Line’ and ‘Sacred Heart’ – these records have gone on to become part of rock history.
Iron Maiden’s main man Steve Harris has launched his solo band British Lion, delivering a more classic rock – less metal – sound that’s unmistakably British.
Multi-award winning Glaswegian blues rock band King King are fronted by Alan Nimmo and are currently the hottest draw in British blues rock. Voted British Blues Awards best blues band in 2012, 2013 & 2014 and winning best album in 2014 for ‘Standing in Shadows’ and in 2016 for ‘Reaching for the Light’. The band said, “We can’t wait to play at this fantastic festival! It’s a real honour to be in amongst such a legendary line up! I’m getting my walking boots on… we’re going up the mountain”
Singer, songwriter, guitarist Jared James Nichols will bring his own brand of American hard rock all the way from Wisconsin to a Welsh mountain-top next summer.
All girl Aussie power trio Tequila Mockingbyrd play straight-up Rock ‘n’ Roll packing a high energy punch that will hit from the first explosion of sound until long into the after-party. The band said, “We’re beyond excited to be heading back to Wales to rock the mountain at Steelhouse 2017. That’s one off the bucket list – we cannot wait!”
This will be the seventh consecutive year for the Steelhouse Festival [The Welsh International Classic Rock Festival], which aims to be the UK’s best value rock festival. This family friendly event has built up a true following and a real heritage of its own over the six previous successful years
